Elaine Clemons

Elaine A. Clemons, age 77, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Elaine was born in LaCrosse, WI, April 15, 1935, daughter of the late Harold and Adelia (Nee: Danielson) Bowen.

On February 14, 1955 she was united in marriage to Merlyn D. Clemons who preceded her in death, August 8, 1996. She was employed by Western Publishing Company for forty-two years until her retirement in 1996. Elaine enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and cards. More than anything she cherished time spent with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tom (Sarah) Clemons of Racine; her grandchildren, Jacob and Andrew; brothers, Lyle (Sandy) Bowen, Irv Bowen, Vern (Lucy) Bowen; sister-in-law, Connie Bowen; dear friend, Maryann Westman; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers and sister, Richard, Daniel, and Ronnie Bowen, and Esther Hanson.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012, 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Private interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until time of service.
