Elizabeth Mary (nee: Gulyas) Hagen, age 93, passed away Friday, April 20, 2012 at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center. She was born in Racine, July 23, 1918, daughter of the late Joseph and Julia (Nee: Laczko) Gulyas.

Elizabeth was united in marriage to Roy A. Hagen who preceded her in death in June 1996. Betty was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Christian Mothers. Betty enjoyed knitting and her rose gardens. Above all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her son, Roy R. (Julie) Hagen of Racine; 7 grandchildren, Patti (Michael) Drews, Michael Hagen, William Hagen, Dora Hagen, Robert (Kimeko) Hagen, Brian (Rachel) Hagen, Kevin (Katie) Hagen; 8 great grand children; her sister, Ethel Serles; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Hagen and her brothers, Joseph Jr. and Steve Gulyas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 27, 2012, 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave with Reverend Ronald O. Crewe officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church before the service, 9:00 A.M. until 9:45 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Sacred Heart, St Catherine High School, or Racine Lutheran High School have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice Alliance and Lincoln Village for the many years of care that Betty was given by the staff at these facilities.
