Emily J. Day, age 71, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018 at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Racine, June 21, 1946, daughter of the late Darrel and Jean (Nee: Andersen) Mullenberg.

On April 19, 1969 in Racine she was united in marriage to Richard L. Day. Emily had a strong work ethic and throughout her career worked at InSinkErator, Bombardier Inc, Main Street Open Pantry/Odd Fellows, DeRose Bar & Restaurant, Porcaro Small Car Company and Racine Country Club. Emily was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Emily had such a deep love for her family and would do anything for those she loved. Her most joyous moments included going to her grandchildren’s sporting events, taking her family to Great America, spending time in the Dells, and singing and dancing with her family, especially her granddaughter Fancianna. If music was playing, Emily was dancing. Her most beloved treasures are her pictures of loved ones. We will forever cherish all the memories she captured.

She will be dearly missed by her loving husband of forty-nine years, Richard; her children, Richard L. Day II, Heidi J. (Cornelius) Simmons; 3 grandchildren, Nolan Day, CJ Simmons, Fancianna Simmons; brother, Daniel (Theresa) Mullenberg; sisters, Shelly (Jim) Pinter, Sherry (Gordy) Simanek; special cousin, Judy Shook of Greenville, SC; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1, 2018, 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.

A very special thank you to her caregivers at Ascension All Saints and Villa at Lincoln Park for their loving and compassionate care.
