Eric John Suhr, age 63, of Racine, Wisconsin, found peace on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Milwaukee, surrounded by family. Born on September 12, 1962, Eric — or “Rick,” as he was affectionately known — lived a life marked by loyalty and laughter, with an unwavering devotion to those he loved.

Eric graduated from Wm. Horlick High School, Class of 1980. He worked for R.D. Roman Co. in Rockford, Illinois, as a commercial tile setter and job foreman for 30 years before opening his own subcontracting tile business, which he operated for five years. After retiring due to health issues, Eric worked as the General Manager at Ro Jo’s Pub in Racine. Eric’s friendship with the owner, Joe Vlasak, meant everything to him, and we thank Joe for his generosity and kindness throughout the years.

Eric’s devotion to his best friend and wife of 39 years, Nancy, was obvious to all who knew them. They spent many anniversaries in Door County or at their favorite restaurant in Fond du Lac, celebrating their enduring love and many blessings. Together, they made a wonderful team, facing everything life brought them side by side.

When he was able, Eric loved golfing — especially the many trips to Myrtle Beach — driving the backroads wherever he went, listening to live music, watching the Packers with the guys, and playing fetch with his beloved dog, Ernie, who was named after Pop Pop Ernie Suhr.

Eric is survived by his wife, Nancy; brothers Jay (Kimmarie) of Austin, Texas, Rob (Kim) of Wales, and Brian of Oak Creek; Uncle Jim Suhr of Wheaton, Illinois; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and so many dear friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Joan Suhr; his aunt, Kathy Suhr; his parents-in-law, Clifford and Kathleen LeRoux; his brother, Jeffrey Suhr; his brother-in-law, Richard LeRoux; and his dear friend, Randy Rabe.

Eric will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his family and friends. He truly loved each of them — and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity and strength, full of love for those who went before him. He will be dearly missed.

A gathering of friends and family will be held Friday, May 29, 2026, 5-7 P.M. at Preservation Hall Racine, 740 Lake Ave, A time of remembering will follow at 7:00 P.M
