Ernest L. Tryba

Ernest (Ernie) Lawrence Tryba, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great- grandfather, lost his courageous battle with congestive heart failure on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the age of 90. Because of his devoted wife and family, he was able to pass away peacefully in the comfort of his home surrounded by many loved ones, including his Grandson/Godchild, Kurt.

Ernie was born in Rosholt, WI on December 5, 1927 to the late Joseph and Martha (Nee: Simonis) Tryba. He was united in marriage to Veronica Stublaski on May 20, 1950 at St. Sebastian's Church in Sturtevant where they remained lifetime members.

Ernie was a hardworking, energetic, gentle man who lived life to its fullest. In 1946, he enlisted in the Navy and proudly served his country for 2 years. Over the years, he shared many heartwarming stories about his time spent in the service. Ernie began his working career at Renches in 1949. In 1966, he left Renches and went to work for J.I. Case Company as a sheet metal specialist. Ernie retired in 1991. He made many special friends during his working career and mentioned them often.

After retiring, Ernie wasn't about to just "sit still", so he began working part-time for Mount Pleasant Park & Rec. Dept. cutting grass and grooming the parks. He also decided to put his creative" repair skills" to work by volunteering at Toys for Tots fixing toys. We know that he put smiles on many children's faces when they received those toys for Christmas. On Tuesdays, Ernie helped at the St Rose Meal Program.

What Ernie enjoyed most of all, was attending all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren's events: softball, volleyball, and soccer games, dance recitals, school plays and concerts, and gymnastic meets. He was also an avid Brewer fan having the opportunity to attend many games. Ernie and Veronica loved to travel which they did often with family, and friends. For many years, he belonged to St Sebastian's Holy Name Society, working many hours at their fish fries, picnics, and card parties.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Veronica of 68 years, 3 children, Linda (Rick) Vanderhoef, Lyle (Sue) Tryba, Les (Jan) Tryba of South Carolina; 5 grandchildren, Kurt (Joanna) Vanderhoef of Waukesha, Kari (Mike) Janasik of Muskego, Karleen (Nate) Meyer of Milwaukee, Ashley (Ken) Kiepczynski of Oak Creek, and Willie (Jen) Smith of South Carolina; 7 great grandchildren, Hugo, Elsa, Kateri, John Paul, Louella, Genevieve, and Ryan who brought him many joyful moments; a sister, Mary Iwanowski of Stevens Point, Sisters-in-law, Helen Schattner, Dawn Stublaski, and Karen Stublaski Brother-in-law, Leroy (Jeanne) Stublaski, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, and parents-in-law, Thomas and Nathalie(Arnold) Stublaski, Ernie was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Daniel(Veronica), Harold(Esther), Chester(Ethel), and Raymond, 3 sisters, Ida (Chester) Grochowski, Lorraine (John) Dombrowski, and Genevieve (Ben) Jansen. Brothers-in-law, Bernie Iwanowski, Edward, Clement, and Thomas Stublaski, Gerhardt Schattner, Charles(Beverly) Stublaski, Paul(Judy) Stublaski, and Sister-in-law, Angeline(Pete) Long. Most precious of all, Ernie was preceded in death by his grandchild, Allison Sue Tryba, the "apple of his eye", who always put a smile on his face. We know that she was waiting for him at Heaven’s gates with open arms.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 21, 2018, 10:30 A.M. at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3126 95th Street, Sturtevant, WI with Rev. Javier Guativa officiating. Entombment with Full Military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at St. Sebastian Catholic Church on Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.(Prayer Service at 6:00 P.M.) and Monday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:30 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. Sebastian Church, Cdls Foundation or a charity of your choice.

A heartwarming thank you to Karen Murillo (NP), Dr. Howard Short, Dr. Ned Mejalli, Barb P, Julie and Terry from Ascension Hospice, Bright Star Home Care, and Ernie’s devoted niece, Kathy Metz, for their loving care. Also, Ernie's wife and children would like to extend a "Special" thank you to all of their wonderful family and friends that joined them in celebrating Ernie's 90th birthday Party. For days after, he kept saying, "I can't believe all of those people came just to see me!"
