Ernest Lee Tenort

Mr. Ernest Lee Tenort, 73, was called home by his Lord and Savior, on May 9th 2025, peacefully with his family by his side. He was born in Enterprise MS on July 8, 1952, The son of the late Willie Cedars Tenort and Mary Allie "Buckley" Tenort.

Ernest joined the church at an early age in Enterprise Ms. at New Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a student at Central High School, of Enterprise Ms. after becoming a resident of Racine Wi, he was a graduate of Washington Park High School and later was employed by J.I case Corporation where he worked for many years. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, spending time with his grandkids, and enjoying life. He loved the Green Bay Packers and The Milwaukee Bucks and could tell you everything about any sport.

He was a kind Man. Always kept a smile on his face. If you needed anything he would give you his last. He never complained about anything just overall a good Man. He loved to joke around and was definately funny.

He is survived by and will be deeply missed by, Garnett Betts, whom he shared 49 loving years with. Sons, Garrett Watson, Antonio McLain, and Guywuan Tenort; Daughter, Erniki Tenort; brother, Oscar Lee Tenort and sisters, Daisy Mae Bogan, Charlean" Lacey Charles" King, Azalene "Willie" Flora, and Willie Ruth "Tunzyaan" Williams; 21 grandkids and 12 great grandkids whom he loved dearly. Host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Mary Tenort, His Granparents Dennis and Allie Buckley, Daughter, Gayit "Tenort" Franklin. Grandson, Kareem Alonzo McLain. Brothers, Eddie H. Tenort, Willie Bee Tenort. Sister, Doris M. Bogan, and nephew Curtis Causey.

Funeral services celebrating Ernest’s life will be held at 11:00 am, at the funeral home, Friday May 23, 2025, with Rev. Stanley McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Friday, at 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
