Life Story / Obituary
Mrs. Esperanza Sanchez Rodriguez, age 93, formerly of Eagle Pass, Texas entered her heavenly home on April 3,2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Esperanza was born in Eagle Pass, Texas on May 7, 1932, to Maria Magdalena (nee: Samaniego) Sanchez and Jesus Gallegos Sanchez, and had been a resident of Racine, Wisconsin since 1955.
On December 25, 1950, in Eagle Pass, Texas, she was united in marriage to Pedro Banda Rodriguez.
Esperanza accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1959 during a Revival held at the old Racine Assembly of God Church on Park Avenue. One of her ministries was sharing her faith and praying for those who needed encouragement and prayer. She never failed to read her Bible daily.
Esperanza raised 10 children and enjoyed spending family time with them. There was always a delicious meal at the table for her family and for anyone who stopped by.
Surviving are seven daughters, Maria (Rick) Pace of Racine, Graciela Kilb of Racine, Esperanza (Morris) Reece of Racine, Martha (Dale) Hubert of Mequon, Sylvia (Doug) Gehrz of Racine, Gloria Rodriguez of Racine, and Rebecca Rodriguez of Racine; two sons, Pedro (Jo Ann) Rodriguez Jr of Racine and Jesse Rodriguez of Racine; 23 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Consuelo Valdez of Racine and Josefina Rodriguez of Houston, Texas, one brother Juan Antonio Sanchez of Milwaukee; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her spouse Pedro Banda Rodriguez, son Pablo Rodriguez, parents Jesus and Maria Sanchez, sister Maria Ayala, brothers Francisco Javier Sanchez, Juan Jesus Sanchez and Juan Jose Sanchez.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 11:30 am, Friday, April 17, 2026. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for visitation on Friday at 10:00 am until time of service. Private interment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Memorials to Southern Wisconsin Center have been suggested by the family.
