Esther Rule

Born September 8, 1945, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, on December 13, 2025, age 80. Surrounded by her daughter and daughter-in-law, peacefully. Born in Kansas City, MO. She met the love of her life on a blind date in Chicago, IL where they met, moved to Racine, WI on Feb. 1965, had their daughter in September 1965, then moved back to Chicago, IL in 1968, and had their son in June of 1968. In the summer of 1972 they moved to Las Vegas, NV, where she worked at the Aladdin Hotel & Casino as a maid. Moved back to Racine in Aug. 1985. Been a resident over 40 years. Esther was confirmed disabled in Jan. 1988. She was a homemaker, loved to cook, crochet and watch movies, but most of all loved to be with family. Had been married for 35 years. Our mother kicked cancer’s butt twice yet the irresponsibility and lack of care while staying in a local nursing facility caused her to get a terrible infection that ultimately led her to become septic with an already weak immune system due to chemotherapy. Please hug your loved ones and tell them how much you love them every day because you never know when it will be their time.

She will be dearly missed.

Survived by Daughter Barbara (nee: Rule), (Son-in-law Joseph M. Crocco), Son John H. Rule (daughter-in-law Tina-nee: Kluth), Grandson Joseph M. Crocco III, Grandson John H. Rule Jr. (wife-Kaitlin-nee: Karawacki), her grand pup Frankie, Ramirez Family, McClure Family, Monica Valdez Serrato, and many family members & friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband (Walter Rule) Oct. 31, 2000.

A special thank you to Dr. Patrick Fay, Dr. Syed Hassan, Dr. Jennifer Lo, ICU & Hospice staff at Aurora Medical Center for the care, compassion and service for our mother’s care.

A private celebration of life with interment at Mound Cemetery will be held with family.
