Life Story / Obituary
Evelyn Scheibner (nee Moss), born on August 12, 1945, in Crockett, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, in Racine, Wisconsin.
A graduate of Park High School, Evelyn attended Texas State University-San Marcos before settling in Racine for most of her life. She dedicated many years to serving others as a social worker and case manager for Racine County and in the private sector. Later in life, she transitioned into entrepreneurship as the proprietor of Jim Bob's, Evelyn's Club Main, Brass Monkey, and most recently, Maxine's.
Evelyn approached life on her own terms, unapologetically. Her sharp wit, sense of humor, and generous nature were a blessing to all who knew her. An exceptional cook who loved to host, no one left her home anything less than thoroughly satisfied by her culinary skills.
She will be deeply missed by her sister, Harriet Lindenberg of New Mexico; her daughters, Julie Scheibner (Marty Murillo), of California and Karen Jensen of Racine; her granddaughter, Erika Ricchio (Brandon Thomas); her grandson, Samuel (Lisseth) McFarland; Great grandson's Logan and Blaise, along with countless close friends. She was preceded in death by her son, James Scheibner; her mother, Betty Davis; her stepfather, Orville Davis; her father, Chesley Moss; and her brother, Edward Moss.
In loving memory of Evelyn, donations may be made to Hospice Alliance. A celebration of life will be held at Infusino’s Banquet Hall on Monday May 11, 2026 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm.
