Gerald “Jerry” C. Johansen, age 91, passed away, Friday, July 10, 2026, at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. He was born in Racine, July 15, 1934, son of the late Carl and Maria (Nee: Kahl) Johansen.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army as Sargent 1st Class, during the Korean Conflict. On May 26, 1956, he was united in marriage to Carol Reth, who preceded him in death on September 29, 2010. Jerry owned and operated Town and Country Auto Salvage Emporium for fifty years.

Jerry was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting deer, pheasant, turkey and bear. He had a great love of traveling and especially his month-long trip in 1995 to Australia. It was time spent with his family that he cherished most.

He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his son, Shane (Patty) Johansen; daughter, Lynn Johansen; grandchildren, Tony (Adrienne) Johansen, Kim (Matt) Robison, Dani Johansen (Marco Martinez); great grandchildren, Jameson, Kennedy and Corbin; sister-in-law, Carol Johansen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parent’s and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Jack Johansen and his sister and brother-in-law, Jean (John) Duncanson.

Funeral Services celebrating Jerry’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:30 am, Monday, July 20, 2026. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Mound Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Wednesday at 10:00 am until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested Memorials to the Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin or to K9s For Veterans, NFP.

“Au Revoir!”
