Gladys Mary Clausen, age 99, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side Sunday, February 22, 2026. She was born in Racine, WI, January 4, 1927, daughter of the late John and Esther (Nee: Sherbert) Beckett.
On July 9, 1945, at Emmaus Lutheran Church she was united in marriage to Roland C. “Bob” Clausen. They were married for 60 years when he passed away October 27, 2005. Gladys had worked in food service at Wm Horlick High School for 21 years and had been a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed traveling with Bob, taking days trips in the car, going to the casino and watching Judge Judy and Wheel of Fortune. She will be remembered for her love of family especially for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.
Surviving are four children, Albert (Nancy) Clausen, Julaine Rosinski, Janet Hanson, Krisse (Jeff) Therkelsen, all of Racine; four grandchildren, Michael (Amy) Hanson, Christopher (Julia) Hanson, Nicole (Cullen) Brookins, and Todd Clausen; great grandchildren, Hudson and Mason Hanson, Nolan, Gabrielle, Sawyer, Leighton, and Archer Hanson, Rhett Brookins; sister, Betty Istvanek; special niece, Julie (Ravi) Velasquez and Brianna Velasquez; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Tony; 11 siblings, Goldie, Harold, Edward, Bertha, Martha, Mary, James, Evelyn, John, Daisy, and William; and her special sister-in-law Annie Beckett.
Private services were held with interment at West Lawn Memorial Park.
