Herbert Anton Kauth, age 89, passed away Friday, September 9, 2016 at Ridgewood Care Center surrounded by his family. He is now at rest in the Lord’s embrace joining his wife in eternal life. He was born in Racine, July 23, 1927, son of the late Norbert and Rose (Nee: Hrasky) Kauth.

Herb graduated from Washington Park High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945 serving until 1947 in the South Pacific. He completed his electrician education in Chicago and became an electrical contractor. On June 3, 1950 he was united in marriage to Lillian J. Keller who preceded him in death June 9, 2010. Herb owned and operated Herb Kauth Electric CO with his wife for 25 years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church. He was a member of Belle City Lodge #92 and was a Past Master Mason. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and power boating. He was a member and past commodore of the Fifth Street Yacht Club, cofounder of ROW and Captain of the “Sparky” cruiser. Herb was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his children, Suzanne (Gary) Cooper of Mt. Pleasant, Penny (Dan) George of Lincoln, CA, Herbert T. (Patty) Kauth of Bakersfield, CA; grandchildren, Peter (Michelle) Cooper of Batavia, IL, Samantha (Kurt) Hietala of Mukwonago, Keegan George of CA; 4 great grandchildren, Nate, Jacob, Cooper, and Addison; sisters, Agnes (Rich) Reinhard of West Allis, Violet Bartel of MO, Marion Borchardt of Racine; nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerald Bartel, Gerard Borchardt, Ken and Ruth Oldenburg.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Monday, September 19, 2016, 11:00 A.M. with Reverend David Echelbarger officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Taps will be played on the tuba by great grandson Nate Cooper. Relatives and friends may meet Monday at the funeral home 9:30 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Memorials to Ridgewood Care Center have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the 2E staff at Ridgewood, Jane RN, Gretchen LPN, Jenay and Vivian for their loving and compassionate care. “See you later Dad.”
