Ida I. Erickson

Ida Isabelle Erickson 84, of Gilbert, AZ, while family members holding her precious, ageless hands, departed this world to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. She was born to Pedro and Vivian Rivera on October 25,1941, in Embudo, New Mexico, 42 miles from Santa Fe, NM. where she was raised by her loving parents, along with four sisters and one brother.

The Rivera Family relocated to Racine, WI in 1952, where she would meet the love of her life, Roger K. Erickson. They married on April 8, 1961, raised three children and celebrated 52 years of marriage together. Ida worked at

S.C. Johnson & Son. After Roger retired from AMC/Chrysler with 40 years of dedicated service, they decided to relocate to a warmer climate to Gilbert, AZ. With their loving and great personalities, the community In Trilogy welcomed them with open arms.

With her unbelievable, out of this world energy that she encompassed throughout her entire life, she made a genuine personal connection with everyone in her presence. Hers is a special soul with an illuminating light from within that will continue to shine on

Ida enjoyed activities with her family and friends. Including: game nights of Bingo; Bunco; Zumba; Old Maid; ceramics; thrifting; greeting card making; painting; selling at craft fairs; treasure hunting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren; prayer meetings and bible studies; coffee clutching; lunching; dinner parties; hosting block parties; rock-n-rolling; and of course non-stop dancing! Including Belly Dancing lessons! Music has always been a staple in her family’s lives.

She is survived by her three children, Rodger (Angie) Erickson, Lori (Greg) Poplawski, Rick (Heather) Erickson; grandchildren, Alex Erickson, Kyle (Jessica) Erickson, Rhianna (John) Lewis, Colton and Ellie Poplawski, Haley Bernhardt, Cameron (Breanna) Erickson; great grandchildren, Jaxon and Wes Bernhardt, Blaikley Erickson; siblings, Eva (Hank) Hackstein, Gene (Joanne) Rivera, Marion (Adam) Barootian, Terri Battles; sister-in-law, Bonnie Erickson; many cousins, nieces, nephews, dear friends; and her honorable sweetheart, James Loakem.

Ida was preceded in the afterlife by her, “Hunk,” of a husband, Roger K. Erickson; great-granddaughters, Sophia Rose, Layla Rae, and Elise Pearl; her parents, Pedro C. and Vivian Rivera; her sister, Nora Shaughnessy; and brothers-in-law, Glenn Battles and James Erickson.

Celebration of Life Services will be held in Racine, WI and Arizona. In Arizona, Sunday, December 14th 1:00-3:00 pm at Trilogy Café 4369 E. Village Pkwy Gilbert, AZ. 85298 and in Racine, Wednesday, December 17th visitation 3:00-5:00 pm with a service at 5:00 pm at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St. Dinner to follow
