A bright light has left this Earth.

Jim Piojda, March 25,1939-August 24,2023, was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio. He served in the Navy on a CVA65 Carrier. After his degree from the University of Toledo, his career as a Program Support and Special Education educator began. He retired from Starbuck Middle School.

He was predeceased by his parents Angeline and Joseph Piojda and his twin sister Janice.

He is survived by his brother Frank (Barbara), nephew Joseph (Beth), grandniece Ashlee, and niece Angela, his partner Sandra Pendell, her children Alison (John) Schaefer and grandchildren Gabriella and Zachary. Also, by his many cousins in the Piojda and Adamski families in Toledo.

A world traveler, avid reader, amateur archaeologist in Jordan and Peru, he was famous for his heirloom tomatoes. He enjoyed baseball in his younger years and bowling.

A celebration was held honoring his caring nature and great sense of humor. The Reverend Danielle Lindstrom, Olympia Brown Unitarian Church, officiated at the service.
