Life Story / Obituary
Jean Carol Ferraro (Nee: Becker), age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026. Jean was born in Racine on September 17, 1932, daughter of Walter and Barbara Becker (Nee: Poritz).
Jean was employed at Kohl’s Food Stores and Park High School, brightening the community with her warm, witty demeanor. She was a member of Meadowbrook Country Club for over 40 years and loved golf, tennis, swimming, hosting dinner parties, and playing bridge with friends … as well as the occasional piece of Danish Layer Cake. Above all, she deeply treasured time with her family. She and Matty - the love of her life and devoted husband - never missed a party, dancing the jitterbug all night long.
She will be dearly missed by her loving children, Kim A. Ferraro (and Steve Anderson) of Pewaukee, WI/Sarasota, FL, and Joseph M. Ferraro, of Chicago, IL; her grandchildren Abigail Neitzel and Mathew Ferraro; nieces, nephews, devoted friend Richard, and many other dear friends. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband Matty, brother Bud Becker and sister-in-law Norma Becker, grandson Nicholas Neitzel, and other relatives: Tony Ferraro, Ernie Ferraro, Carmen Ferraro, and Wally and Ann Brehm.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, 2 pm at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 South Green Bay Road, with Rev. Nathan Pratt officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service 12:30 – 2 pm, and a reception will follow. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Heart Assn have been suggested.
