Jean Marie Gandrud

With her family by her side, Jean Marie Gandrud, age 81, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, November 4, 2024. She was born in Minot, North Dakota, on October 24, 1943, only child of the late Grant and Olga (Nee: Fatland) Halden.

On September 2, 1962, Jean was united in marriage to Merlin H. Gandrud. She was employed by Racine Unified School District as a first-grade teacher for 28 years until her retirement in 2002. Jean was a faithful worshiper at Grace Church. She will forever be remembered for her love of travel, music, reading, cooking, and baking. Above all she cherished time spent with her family.

She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her husband of 62 years, Merlin; daughter Lori (Daniel) Rennock; son Michael (Lisa) Gandrud; grandchildren Bethany, Keith, Abigail, and Matthew; and other relatives and dear friends.

Funeral services celebrating Jean’s life will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 11:00 am at Grace Church, 3626 Hwy 31, Racine, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
