Jerome Albert Lemke, “Jerry”, age 87, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at Lakeshore at Siena. He was born in Racine, January 26, 1935, son of the late Milton and Veronica (Nee: Beres) Lemke.

Jerry proudly served in the U. S. Army Reserves. On August 9, 1969, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, he was united in marriage to Vera Doyle (Nee: Hovland). Vera passed away May 24, 2007. Jerry was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Jerry was a member of the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union Local 599 Area 845 for 69 years. He was considered a master by his peers and also expanded his knowledge of the construction trades. Because of his caring personality he made long lasting relationships and would help anyone who asked. He had retired from Racine United School District after 29 years of employment. Jerry enjoyed working and the many people he met while working. He also enjoyed gardening and yardwork. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his sons, Kelly Doyle and Paul Lemke; grandchildren; great grandchildren; siblings, James (Susan) Lemke, Alan Lemke, Carol (Jack) Austin; special friend, Lorraine Caspers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Milton and Robert; and his sister, Romona Schneider.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home, Friday, April 29, 2022, 11 am. with Reverend Allen Bratkowski officiating. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10-11 am. Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Assn have been suggested.
