Jimmy Dean Wember, age 59, passed away with his family by his side Saturday, May 18, 2024. Jimmy was born in Kenosha on March 17, 1965, to Ronald and Carol (Nee: Edwards) Wember and attended Wm. Horlick High School.

He went to work at Hugasian Motors where he loved auto detailing and working on his Porsche. He was a Porsche enthusiast and belonged to the Porsche Club of America. Later in life he worked at the Pugh Marina where he became active in Racine’s sailing community. His love of detailing then extended to boats and he became known as "Jimmy Buffer" around the harbor. He enjoyed the marine life, frequented the Harbor Lite Yacht Club, as well as the Chartroom and John’s Dock. He had two sailboats. One of his sailing highlights was being a part of a sailing crew that sailed down towards Panama delivering a boat. Jimmy was fiercely independent and a nonstop worker who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a beloved son, brother, and uncle who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his mother, Carol Gretebeck and step father Todd Gretebeck in Racine; two brothers, Henry (Vicki) Edwards in Milwaukee and Harold Edwards in Houston TX; two sisters, Pam Bass in Houston TX and Sandy (Nick) Cochran in Kenosha; special friend, Terry Dail; numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald J. Wember. Though his life was shortened by cancer he made long lasting friendships and enjoyed spending time in relaxing conversation.

Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 5-7 pm.

Memorials to Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158 have been suggested.

The family wishes to thank Rick Banulis, RN of Hospice Alliance for his concerned care.
