JoAnn Bonini, 86, passed away peacefully at home on November 19, 2024. She was born on October 16, 1938, in Racine, WI to Richard M. Bonini, Sr. and Josephine Bonini.

JoAnn was very grounded in her faith. Now that she has passed into the arms of our Lord, her physical life on earth is over but it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.

Over the years, JoAnn enjoyed taking photos and videos to document the moments that were so special to her. In the early 1960’s she had a show horse named Shane. She was huge admirer of Elvis Presley, an avid Green Bay Packers fan and devoted dog lover, she enjoyed the peacefulness of reading a good book, and most of all she loved her family. So much so that in 2008, with the help of many others, and many countless hours of research she created our Family Tree and Family Scrapbook.

After graduating from St. Catherine’s High School in 1956, JoAnn started her 39-year career at Social Security Administration in Racine, WI. She retired in 1995.

JoAnn was an example of a woman driven by purpose and faith in God. Although she had no children of her own, her greatest joy was nurturing, mentoring, and loving her nieces and nephews. She would always challenge those around her to be the best versions of themselves. She had a heart of gold and would never hesitate to give to someone in need. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and was loved and admired by many. The impact of JoAnn’s life will be felt for years to come.

JoAnn’s legacy will live on forever through the many stories she shared and the memories of those who had the opportunity to know her. She will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

JoAnn was preceded in death by her baby brother Joseph, parents, Richard and Josephine, her brother-in-law George Hollembeak and her dear friend Laverne Smith. She is survived by her sisters and brother whom she loved dearly: Sharon Hollembeak (George); Linda Sommers (Jack); Richard Bonini, Jr. (Joyce); nine nieces and nephews, best friend and devoted companion for over 50 years, Peggy Geraghty and many friends. JoAnn will be sadly missed by her dog Dolly.

The family would like to thank Hospice Alliance and Home Instead for their care and commitment to JoAnn during the final days of her earthly life. They would also like to thank the priests of Catholic Community of Eight in Racine, WI for their blessings and compassion for JoAnn.

Family and friends are invited to join in JoAnn’s memorial service on November 30, 2024, at 11 am at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave, Racine, WI 53403, with Fr. Craig Richter officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service 9:30 am until 11 am. A celebration of life luncheon will immediately follow at Infusino’s Banquet Hall. Private interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.
