Joe Frank Burns

Joe Frank Burns, age 71, passed away on Wednesday May 18, 2022. Joe was born in Meridian, MS on March 4, 1951, son of the late Ezra Lee and Carrie D (nee: Buckley) Burns. Joe moved to Racine with his family in 1958.

Joe always loved sports, especially basketball, baseball and football. He proved to be a great athlete and played baseball professionally in his younger years for a AAA team. He was employed with Greene Manufacturing in Racine and retired from AMFAB in Galesburg, MI. Joe always enjoyed socializing and was always ready to light the grill and barbecue for his family and friends.

Joe will be dearly missed by his children, Iris Bryant, Joel (Yvette) Burns, Keante Burns, Keyondre Burns, Keyonna Burns, Chantal Franklin and Ezekiel Franklin; grandchildren, Leangelo Bryant, Iesha Bryant, Dekhire Jordan Sr., Larelle Bryant, Jajuan Bogan, Javin Bogan, Kenya Burns, Joel Burns Jr., Blake Burns, Faith Burns, (Chantals Kids) Cameron, Maleia, and Keon Jr., who is also dearly missed, (Ezekial’s kids), Raeyon, Ej, Mckenna, Neveah, and Harlee; great grandchildren, Leangelo, Lenijah, Ramani, Austin, Akira, Ayden, Ava, Dekire Jr., Lerell jr., Latrell, and Alivia; and siblings Vera Burns, and Edward Burns, Hurdis Burns; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by Annie D Miller and Robert Burns.

A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held later in the summer.
