Jose Jesus Cervantes Lopez

Jose Jesus Cervantes Lopez, age 91, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Ascension All Saints Hospital. He was born in Las Tinajas, Apulco, Zacatecas, Mexico, August 6, 1931, son of the late Encarnacion and Gavina (Nee:Lopez) Cervantes.

On May 28, 1961, he was united in marriage to Luciana Vallin and they were blessed with 10 children. They came to the United States in 2006 and have been residents of Racine. Luciana passed away February 13, 2014. Jesus was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Throughout his life he was a hard working farmer and when not working he enjoyed the quiet relaxing. He was a devoted, husband, father, grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his children, Luisa Cervantes, Aucelio Cervantes, Filiberto Cervantes, Olegario Cervantes, Javier Servantez, Raul Cervantes, Lucila Lopez, Lucina Arias, Quirino Cervantes; many grandchildren; great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son J Guadalupe Cervantes Vallin last April 20th.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 11, 2023, 10 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 1100 Erie Street. Interment will be at Panteon de Los Angeles, Lo de Carrera (Zacatecas) Mexico. Visitation will be held at Cristo Rey Hall, 1111 Erie Street, Friday at 7 pm and Saturday 8-10 am at the church.
