Joyce Elaine Sorenson

Joyce Elaine Sorenson, age 86, passed away Thursday evening, October 3, 2024. Joyce was born in Racine, WI on June 11, 1938, daughter of the late Knute and Mayme (nee: Kablau) Bjornsen.

She graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1956”. She married Richard Paul Sorenson on September 20, 1957. They soon moved to Las Vegas, NV in the early 1960’s. Joyce was employed as a medical assistant for over thirty years. She had a passion for photography and was an award-winning photographer of the Nevada Camera Club. She enjoyed her travels across the United States. Above all, Joyce loved her time spent with her family.

Joyce will be dearly missed by her sons, Todd Sorenson, Eric Sorenson; three grandchildren, Paul Jr., Allen, and Madeleine; three great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Joyce was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Bjornsen.

There will be private family services at a later date with entombment at the Christ Church Episcopal Columbarium in Las Vegas, NV.
