Joyce L. Christensen

Joyce L. Christensen, age 95, passed away Saturday June 26, 2021. She was born in Racine, January 25, 1926, daughter of the late Donald and Ruth (Nee: Rolfson) Christensen.

Upon graduating from Washington Park High School, Joyce began her career in banking and was employed by American Bank and Trust Co. for 25 years, during which time she became an Officer of the Bank. Later, she and her two sisters also owned and operated a needlepoint business, PanJo Originals. She was an accomplished needlepoint artist and after the business ended, she did personal custom work for many years. She also enjoyed spending winters in Delray Beach, Florida with her parents.

She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her two sisters: Patricia C. Mortensen and Nancy Ruth Koykkari; nephew, Kris (Julie) Koykkari; niece, Kimberly (Jim) Yoghourtjian; great nephews and nieces: David (Jackie) Mortensen, Leigh (Jeremy) Vaughan, Alexis (Pete) Matson, Aaron (Carly) Koykkari, Nicole (Eric) Fanning; several great, great nephews and nieces; cousin, Tom (Cathy) Rolfson, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Ed Mortensen and her nephew, Paul Mortensen.

A private funeral service with interment was held at West Lawn Memorial Park.
