Judith A. Petersen

Judith A. Petersen, age 78, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Wheaton-Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Racine, November 3, 1934, daughter of the late Irving and Evelyn (Nee: Sorensen) Christensen.

Judith was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1952”. She was united in marriage to Ronald L. Petersen who preceded her in death, November 23, 2011. She was a former member of Bethania Lutheran Church. A sports enthusiast, Judith played fast pitch with the Racine Junior Belles in her younger years. Most of all she cherished the many cookouts and time spent with her family and grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth (Stacey) Petersen, Karen (Michael) Checki and Kristi Petersen (Daniel May), all of Racine; grandchildren, Nicholas, Lauren and Dana Petersen and Soren May; brothers and sister, Richard (Rita) Christensen, Don (Sally) Christensen, Karen (Sam) Fernandez; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jerome and Robert.

Judith was a very private person in life and remains so in death. A private celebration of her life will be held.
