Surrounded by family, Judith Ann Nielsen, age 83, passed away Thursday June 6, 2024, at Ascension St. Francis Medical Center in Milwaukee. Judith was born in Racine on January 8, 1941, daughter of the late Francis and Helen (nee: Olson) Toutant.

Judy was a proud graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1959”. On September 15, 1962, she was united in marriage to David Lee Nielsen. They shared fifty-three wonderful years together before David preceded her in death in 2015. Her love of children filled her with great joy assisting as a teacher’s aide at St. Edward Catholic Pre-School. She especially enjoyed her camping trips with family and friends on Crystal Lake. Judy was a member of Sons of Norway. She was artistic and enjoyed arts and crafts and always enjoyed reading a good mystery. Above all, she loved her time with her grandchildren.

Judy will be dearly missed by her son, Dennis (Sarah) Nielsen; grandchildren, David Nielsen, Dennis Nielsen Jr., Christopher and Megan Wronkowski, Grant (Rileigh) Johnson, Blake Johnson Fiancé, Breanna), Elise Johnson and Magen Johnson; brothers, William (MaryAnn) Toutant, Terry (Lorrie) Toutant; son-in-law, Curt Johnson; in-laws, Vicky Heckel, Sandy (Dan) Hoaglund; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Judy was also preceded in death by her daughter, Michelle Johnson, brothers-in-law, Lee Nielsen and Larry (Janice) Nielsen, Donald Heckel, nephew, Barry Nielsen, and special family member, Phyllis Heinen.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11 a.m. with A Celebration of Judy’s Life Service to start at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, town of Dover.
