Julie Ann Halstead, 64, of Caledonia, Wisconsin, passed away on February 8, 2026, after a courageous battle against cancer. Julie was born July 1, 1961, in York, Nebraska to James and Mary Ellen Halstead. Julie grew up with her three older brothers enjoying time at Sack’s Lake boating, water skiing, and enjoying the water. Julie graduated from York High School in 1979, and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1983.

Julie went to work as a manager for K-Mart in Indiana, Arkansas, and Wisconsin for 35 years before retiring from the company in 2017. Julie then went to work for Tri City National Bank in Sturtevant for seven years.

Julie never liked cold nor hot weather but really did enjoy vacationing in warm places in the Caribbean and Mexico. Julie is remembered for her distinctive laugh and enjoying fun with her friends throughout her life. Julie loved pets beginning in childhood with “Cuddles”, who was a neighbor’s cat that spent most of the daytime hours with Julie, to her dogs Carly, Madison, and Cheyenne.

Julie is proceeded in death by her parents. Julie is survived by her brothers Steve Halstead, Omaha Nebraska, Greg Halstead, York, Nebraska, and Brian (Judy) Halstead, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Julie will be inurned at Greenwood Cemetery, York, Nebraska at a later date when it is warmer. Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or your favorite nonprofit pet rescue have been suggested by the family.
