Karen Linda Blaisdell

With her family by her side, Karen Linda Blaisdell (nee: Troen), age 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon January 4, 2026. Karen was born in Racine on December 18, 1958, daughter of the late Harold and Irene (nee: Sorenson) Troen.

Karen graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School “Class of 1977”. On July 30, 1977, she was united in marriage to Virgil Blaisdell Jr at 29 Marine Corps Base in 29 Palms, CA. They shared twenty-eight years together before Virgil passed away in 2005. In her younger years, Karen assisted in educating special needs children at Racine Unified. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Karen will be dearly missed by her children, Jeff (Nina) Blaisdell, Kevin Blaisdell (fiancée, Shannon), Katie (Mark) Desotell; her grandchildren, Hailey, Cayden and Bryce Blaisdell, Ethan Blaisdell (fiancée, Talia), Aubree and Daniel Desotell; siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday January 24, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Karen’s Life Service to start at 3:00 p.m.
