Karen M. Corveleyn, age 87, passed away peacefully at her residence on Sunday, September 6, 2026. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on November 2, 1938, the daughter of the late Charles and Frances (nee Scherbarth) Brooks. On June 13, 1959, Karen married the love of her life, John Corveleyn. Together they shared more than 60 years of marriage until John’s passing on May 13, 2020.

Karen worked as an Administrative Assistant at AT&T for 13 years before retiring in 1992. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church, where she enjoyed sharing her love of music as a member of the choir. Karen had a wonderful love of travel, enjoyed getting lost in a good book, and especially loved cooking for her family. She often said that cooking was her expression of love, and those fortunate enough to gather around her table knew exactly what she meant. For Karen, preparing a meal was about much more than food, it was about family, time together, and showing the people in her life how deeply she cared for them.

Above all, Karen treasured her family. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her son, John (Renee) Corveleyn; her grandchildren, Chadwick, Alexis Saaman (Daniel), Nicholas (Victoria), Brandy Prahl (Brett), and Aiden; and her great-grandchildren, Blaire, Eden, Veronica, Grant, and Blake.

Karen’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at Primrose Retirement Community for the kindness, compassion and care they provided to Karen. A very special thank you goes to her nurse, Judy, whose loving care and support were truly a blessing to Karen and her entire family.

In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, John, Karen was preceded in death by her sister, Gerrie (Ralph) Fisher.

A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at Grace Church on Highway 38 on Monday, November 2, 2026, a particularly meaningful day, as it would have been Karen’s 88th birthday. A private interment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband John with full military honors.
