Life Story / Obituary
Kathleen A. Norwood, age 75, passed away Sunday January 19, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center-Mt. Pleasant. Kathleen was born in Franksville, WI on Halloween October 31, 1949, daughter of the late Milton and Gerda (nee: Jacob) Werner.
She was a proud graduate of Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1968”. On June 19, 1971, Kathleen was united in marriage to William T. Norwood. They raised a daughter, Tonia, and shared forty-one beautiful years together before William passed away in 2012. Through the years, Kathleen was employed as a legal secretary with various law firms including Albert-Jude-Boyd and Simanek, and Whitnall Law offices. She was last working as an administrative assistant for RYOCF Racine Youth Offender Correctional Facility. As odd as it sounds, Kathleen loved working on tax forms and helping her friends prepare their taxes. In her spare time, she also helped all her family and friends with their sewing needs, and made everything from matching summer outfits to prom dresses. She enjoyed looking for the next new treasure at rummage sales and her morning breakfast out with her family and friends. Above all, she will be remembered for her deep love and devotion to her family.
Kathleen will be dearly missed by her daughter, Tonia Norwood; grandsons, Kendell Norwood, Devon Norwood, and Cameran Woods-Norwood (Tamia Wrencher); great grandchildren, Kendell Jr. “KJ”, Kyara and Kehlani; siblings, Margie Rydner, Joyce (Richard) Werner-Peck, Gerald (Cindy) Werner; sister-in-law, Wanda Elder; Special friends LaChere (Kenny)Wilson-Price, Michelle Jenkins, Santos Burdohan; Special niece Tina Lutze; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Kathleen was also preceded in death by her sister, Joanne (William) Lutze and her best friend, Linda Brooks.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday February 8, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Kathleen’s Life Service to start at 11:00 a.m.
