Kathleen Sue “Kathy” Pettit, age 80, passed away Thursday afternoon April 2, 2026, at the Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie. Kathy was born in Racine on July 16, 1945, daughter of the late Charles and Ella (nee: Poulsen) Fox.

Kathy graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1963”. On September 9, 1967, at St. Edward’s Catholic Church, Kathy married the love of her life, Robert “Todd” Pettit. She and Todd raised three sons, David, Dan and Jason, and shared fifty-five wonderful years together before Todd passed away in 2022. Kathy was employed with David Insurance for over twenty years. In her younger years, she enjoyed her Tuesday night bowling league, golfing, volunteering at Sacred Heart fish frys and fundraisers, and was an avid reader. Kathy especially liked shopping, to the point where some might call her a professional shopper. She was a dedicated and proud attendee at her sons' and grandchildrens' sporting and school events. Kathy loved being a grandmother and was overjoyed to welcome the newest addition to the family, her great grandchild, Bodhi. Though her hands no longer carry bags, her spirit carries all she gave-love, laughter, and a life beautifully lived.

Kathy will be dearly missed by her sons, David (Carrie) Pettit, Dan (Renee) Pettit and Jason (Kelli) Pettit; grandchildren, Frankie (Justin) Jackson and their child, Bodhi, Jack Pettit (Alexa Panyk), Emmy Pettit, Elaina Pettit, Alexa Pettit, Charlie Pettit, Lucy Pettit, and Oliver Pettit; siblings, John Fox, Jane (Mark) Fox-Anderson, and Timothy (June) Fox; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard (Donna) Pettit, Sue Pettit, Joan Pettit and Pam Pettit. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Kathy was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Chris Jenk and her brothers-in-law, Pat, Tim and Jeff Pettit.

Kathy’s sons and their families would like to extend their deepest sympathy to their uncle, John Fox, who lost his wife, Chris Jenk, several hours prior to the passing of his big sister, Kathy.

All are invited to join the family for a Celebration of Kathy’s Life at Mike & Angelo’s Restaurant, 6214 Washington Avenue, on Friday April 17, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at Hospice Alliance for their tremendous care.
