Kristie Liane Hellenschmidt: nee: Jung, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2024. Kristie was born in Racine on September 17, 1970, daughter of Willard A. Jung and her mother, the late Constance L. (Connie) Jung.

Kristie attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School and was a proud 1988 graduate of Washington Park High School. Her brief employment in the dental industry led to her lifelong passion for all thing’s teeth. However, her crowning achievement and real passion was the upbringing of her three beloved boys and volunteering at their elementary, middle and high school.

Kristie called Dallas, Texas home for sixteen years, but her sense of adventure took her to many international destinations including Australia, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates.

She loved Laffy Taffy, her dogs and was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears and the Guyer High School Wildcats, but her greatest love was her three beautiful sons, Sam, Jackson and Max, who she cherished more than anything.

She will be remembered for her saucy sense of humor, beautiful smile and always being the life of the party. Her larger-than-life personality scored her the opportunity, among other things, to take selfies with 50 Cent and dance on stage with MC Hammer. She was able to fulfill her dreams of being in the studio audience at The Price is Right twice. She commemorated this by naming her beloved dog, Bob Barker.

Kristie will be dearly missed by her entire family, including her three beloved children; Sam, Jackson, and Max, her ex-husband, Stephen, her father, Willard Jung, her five siblings; Jodi (William) Peterson, Brenda (Dale) Krekling Krofta, Cheri (Ed) Turner, Heidi (Greg) Holm, Peter (Maggie) Jung, her nieces and nephews; Andrew (Megan), Emily (Jason), Abby (Collin), Rebecca (Michael), Kayla, Tommy, Sarah, her great-niece and nephews; Connor, Blake, Charlie and Emma; lifelong friends, Brenda Bursek Krekling and Jenny Jardina Spolar; other relatives and dear friends.

In addition to her mother, Kristie was preceded in death by her Aunt Carol Langenfeld and her dogs, Ralph and Bob.

Visitation will be at Maresh Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, Monday, July 29th, 12-1:00 pm followed by a memorial service.

The service will be livestreamed and mey be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/meredithfuneralhome/

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society Racine Campus or the John D. Hetland Memorial Scholarship (Racine Police Department, 730 Center St. 53403 attn: Lt. Joe Spaulding) in remembrance of Kristie’s support of the men and women in blue.
