Leonard Boatner, age 70, passed away Friday, May 31, 2024, at Ridgewood Care Center. He was born in Gary, IN, on August 22, 1953, son of the late Roy Hase and Mattie Lee (Nee: Graham) Boatner.

He leaves to cherish his memory: four children, Stephany Charrano of Brick Township, New Jersey, Megan Schmidt of Tulsa, OK, Mona Boatner of Milwaukee, WI, Breeon (Stacie) Carothers Sr. of Racine; seven grandchildren, Nick, Jason, Quincy, Isabella, Angelina, Breeon Jr. and Trevion Sr.; two great grandsons, Trevion Jr. and Breeon III; three sisters, Hellen Boatner of Chicago, IL, Vicky Boatner, Tina (Arthur) Riley both of Racine; brother, Raymond Boatner of Racine; two aunts, Alice Parks of Chicago, IL, Sarah Graham of Racine; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Lee Boatner and Charles Franklin Boatner and his sister Loretta Boatner.

Funeral Services celebrating Leonard’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:00 am, Thursday, June 13, 2024. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Thursday 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.

A very special thank you to the staff at Ridgewood Care Center, especially Zarond and the staff at Ascension All Saints for their loving and compassionate care.

He will be sadly missed by those left behind.
