Lester Edwin Rathman

Lester Edwin Rathman,72, born January 27, 1954, and passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, at Lakeshore at Siena, surrounded by care and compassion in his final days.

Lester was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Preston and Gertrude Easton, Grandfather Ewald Rathman, Uncle Bobby, Uncle Rob and his brother, Larry. He will be remembered for his strength, his quiet resilience, and the impact he had on those who knew him.

Lester was an avid Chess player. He spent the last 25 years trying to beat the computer. He succeeded twice. He loved to read and would often spend his free time surfing through the isles of Barnes and Nobles. Lester loved to spend time with family. He never missed a holiday, birthday or BBQ.

In his later years, as daily life became more challenging, Lester was fortunate to have a devoted support system from family. With unwavering care from his nephew Angelo Marsh. His kindness and dedication ensured that Lester was able to live with dignity and comfort. His selfless commitment will always be remembered as a true act of love.

Lester leaves behind family and friends who will cherish his memory and carry his spirit with them. He will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service celebrating Lester’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation Wednesday at 10:00 am until time of service. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, town of Dover.
