Life Story / Obituary
Lorraine R. Huff (nee: Iselin), age 96, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2026, at her residence. Lorraine was born in Racine, WI on December 22, 1929, daughter of late Willard and Georgia (nee: Keough) Iselin.
Lorraine was a proud graduate of Horlick High School “Class of 1948”, attended Ripon College and received her degree in Education from Illinois State University in 1952. On December 28, 1957, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to William (Bill) Huff. Lorraine lovingly taught students for 30 years with the Racine Unified School District. She was a member of St. Rita’s and St. Mary’s by The Lake Catholic Churches. She loved spending summers at Camp Anokijig and at her cottage in northern Wisconsin. She spent decades helping her parents’ catering company serve beautiful meals at the Michigan North Woods Club, conferences at Wingspread and weddings at the Racine Eagles Club. Lorraine loved travelling, including spending months in Europe with friends after college and then traveling at a moment’s notice throughout the country to see her many children and grandchildren, never missing a milestone or special event. Lorraine loved to play Bridge and card games, attend book clubs, shop at Milaegars’, and cheer on her Green Bay Packers. She rang the Salvation Army bell for winter donations well into her 90s. She was a proud member of the P.E.O. Chapter DS sisterhood which promotes the advancement of women through higher education. She treasured time spent with family and her many friends.
Surviving Lorraine are her children, Robert (Susan) Huff, Kevin (Amy) Huff, Kathleen (Steven) Pirazzi, and James (Jill) Huff; grandchildren, Amanda, Kendall, Tyler, Jenna, Sydney, Kaelan, Lia, Parker, Sophia, Olivia, and Connor; sisters-in-law Marilyn Iselin and Barbara Iselin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was also preceded in death by her brothers Richard Iselin and David Iselin.
A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Lorraine’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 19, 2026, at St Mary’s by The Lake Catholic Church, 7605 Lakeshore Dr., with Rev. Thomas Vathappallil officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Friday, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 am, at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the P.E.O. Chapter DS or the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Primrose Retirement Community for their loving and compassionate care over the last eight years.
