Life Story / Obituary
Louis Henry Beugnet, age 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday May 31, 2026. Louis was born in Chicago, IL on April 29, 1942, son of the late Henry and Irma (nee: Verbeke) Beugnet.
He graduated from DePaul High School in 1960. On November 16, 1963, Louis was united in marriage to Katherine Ann “Kay” Tomasello. He enjoyed working in the grocery business for over thirty years, starting out with Jewel Osco and eventually owning a White Hen Pantry franchise. Louis was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Mary Church in Huntley, IL, where he was a Third Degree Knight. He also volunteered with the St. Vincent DePaul Society. In his spare time, he enjoyed vacationing whether it be traveling across the United States, to Europe or going on cruises. He will be best remembered for his hard work ethic and his great love and devotion to his family.
Louis will be dearly missed by his wife of sixty-two years, Kay; his son, Lou (Bernadette) Beugnet; grandchildren, Kaela (Liam), Lindsey, Lauryn, Andrew, Steven and Jason; great-granddaughter Molly; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Louis was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannine; and his siblings, George and Louise.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 W. Palatine Rd, Inverness, IL 60067 on Friday June 5, 2026 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.
