Lynnette Kay Ernst, age 80, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024, with her family by her side, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie. She was born in Plymouth, IN, April 22, 1943, daughter of the late James and Anna Ruth (Nee: Piper) Terry.

Lynn was employed by St. Luke’s Hospital and Ascension All Saints Medical Center, as a registered nurse. She worked in same day surgery her entire career, retiring at the age of 76. She was a longtime and active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Lynn enjoyed her escapes to Door County and Camp Arcadia. She was a skilled piano player, enjoyed reading and spending time with family and friends.

She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her children, Carl (Lisa) Benecke, Beverly (Mark) Elling; grandchildren, Charlotte (Charlie) Fernandez, Jordan Delgado, Justice (“CJ”) Parker, “AJ” Farrar, Hope (Steve) Dehmel, Ben Elling, Brittany, Brianna and Brooke Haynes-Benecke, great grandchildren, Liam and Savannah; special and dear friend, Judy Matus; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parent’s, she was preceded in death by two husbands, William Benecke and Glenn Ernst, son, James Benecke and sister, Carol Fuller.

A Memorial Service celebrating Lynn’s life will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, March 3, 2024, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1501 Erie St., With Rev. Jack Gilbert officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, 2:00 pm until time of service at the church. Private interment will take place in Rochester, IN. Memorials to St. John’s Lutheran Choir for the purchase of new music, have been suggested by the family.
