Margaret A Meisner, age 92, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Zilber Hospice Facility, Wauwatosa, WI.

Margaret was born in Greenwood, WI, June 11, 1928, daughter of the late Daniel and Julia Perman (Ozbolt). She was a graduate of the UW Stout with a BS in Home Economics Education (1950) and a MS (1957). On August 11, 1962, in Greenwood, WI, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, the late Herbert N Meisner. Margaret was employed for several years by Racine Gateway Technical College and Kenosha Unified School District, retired in 1989. She was an active member of both St. Paul’s and Sacred Heart Catholic parishes in Racine, St Catherine’s High School Parents Group, Racine Cooperative Nursery School, Bicycle program for Toys for Tots, and Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.

Margaret had a genuine connection and love to the farm where she grew up and was an avid gardener and berry picker—spending many days picking the fruits of the land with her children and grandchildren. Margaret also enjoyed sewing and upholstery and showered friends and family with blankets, quilts, and sewing favors (some with pins still hidden). She displayed her completive edge in cards and games. She never admitted to hiding cards in her “pocketses”. She was a big fan of her family's sports and the Packers, Brewers, Marquette basketball, and the Badgers. You could find her a bit dusty with flour as she showed her love through baking and the many meals she served for anyone near. She spent many winters in Harbor Lakes Park, FL, and at her cottage on Connors Lake in Winter, WI creating memorable moments with family. The cottage was her happy place where all her interests could prosper, and her devotion as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother touched us deeply. Her spirit lives on in those her path crossed.

Survivors include her children, John (Paula) Meisner of New Richmond, Ann (Chris) DeMeulenaere of Brookfield, Matt (Jodie) Meisner of Crystal Lake, IL; her nine grandchildren, Emma, Ellen and Andrea Meisner, Rachael (David) McCallops, Gus and Riley DeMeulenaere, Luke, Noah and Tess Meisner: sisters-in-laws Joanne Meisner of Chippewa Falls, Virginia Perman of St. Paul, MN: nieces, nephews and other relatives and many dear friends.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday, April 12, 2021, from 5-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 13, 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Visitation Catholic Church 1260 Church Street, Elm Grove, WI, with Father David Filut officiating. Private interment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Memorials to UW Stout, Marquette University College of Engineering, or Wisconsin Stars and Stripes Honor Flight have been suggested.

The Mass will be live streamed and may be viewed by going to the funeral home website, select Margaret’s page, select service, and select live stream.
