Margery Jean “Marge” Smith, age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday January 22, 2025 at her home. Marge was born in Racine on June 4, 1947, daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (nee: Quinn) Smith.

Marge graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1965”. She then went on to earn her teaching degree from Dominican College. In her younger years, Marge taught at Holy Name Grade School and then was employed with Lincoln Lutheran of Racine for many years. She also loved her time working and volunteering at Siena Center. Marge was an active member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening around her home, loved her cats, and enjoyed helping other seniors in many ways.

Marge will be dearly missed by her brothers, James (Ketti) Smith of Aurora, CO, Joseph (Barbara) Smith of Madison; niece and nephews, Ketti, David, Greg and Kevin; the Racine Dominican Sisters and Associates, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, Marge was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Kiesler.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday February 1, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a Celebration of Margery’s Life Service to start at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Racine Dominican Mission Fund or Health Care Network have been suggested. If you are not able to attend, Marge’s service will be Live Streamed on the funeral home website.
