Marie Louise Minakian (nee Parsy), age 96, passed away peacefully on June 30,2026, at home holding her daughter’s hand.
Born on July 6,1929, in Brussels, Belgium to Gaston and Marie Parsy, Marie lived a long and vibrant life characterized by her deep selflessness, an enduring love for cooking Armenian and French foods and a delightful playful spirit.
She was predeceased in death by her siblings, Cecile Rush, and Albert Parsy.
Marie’s greatest joys were centered around family, laughter and good conversations. She had a distinct vocabulary, making up her our words only her family understood. “Clunky bars”. A spirited competitor, she loved card games-though she was known for her desire to help everyone else triche, just to keep things lively. Her Belgium chocolate had to be suced (savored) or you simply were not getting anymore.
She is survived by her daughters, Christiane and Suzanne: her cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Stephen, Jessica, Samantha, and Nicholas; and three great grandchildren.
The family extends warm, special thank you to Anna, Judy, Nancy and Sue for the wonderful weekly outings, card games and visits that brought her so much joy over the years.
An extra special thank you goes to Steve Andersen and his Family Their unwavering support made it possible for Marie to Live out her final years comfortably at home with her daughter, Christiane.
Private services will be held followed by entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.
