Marilyn F. Casanova (nee Timken) passed away October 30, 2023, in Racine, WI at the age of 96 surrounded by the love and support of her family.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, John V. Casanova. Marilyn and John Marilyn raised four children in Racine: Susan Derning (Timothy) of Sonoma, CA, Diane Augustine (Thomas) of Milwaukee, WI; Karen Casanova of Delafield, WI, and John Casanova (Linda) of Ft. Collins, CO. Marilyn was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She loved her family and was deeply committed to all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandkids.

Marilyn was born July 8, 1927, in Augusta, KS to Dr. Leslie Timken and Frances Timken. Marilyn was the loving sister of Patsy Blodgett (nee Timken) of Pennsylvania who preceded her in death.

Marilyn met her husband, John, at Marquette University. They married in 1949, started a family, and became involved in many local community organizations and events around Racine including the Sienna Retreat Center and St. Rita’s parish. The Casanovas were frequent travelers and enjoyed visiting their extended family or exploring distant cities and countries around the world. Marilyn and her sister became deeply involved in genealogy and traced their ancestry back through many generations. They wrote a history of the family lineage to be shared with all.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Siena Center Chapel, 5635 Erie Street, on Friday December 8, 2023, 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Siena Center from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery next to the resting place of her husband, John.

In lieu of flowers, donations in remembrance of Marilyn should be directed to the Siena Retreat Center in Racine, WI (www.sienaretreatcenter.org).
