Marla M. Harvey

Marla M. Harvey (Hines) formerly of Rapid City, SD passed away in Racine, Wisconsin on March 15, 2025. She was surrounded by love as she made her journey.

Marla was born on January 7, 1938 in Lead SD. She grew up in Spearfish, SD. Marla married Edwin B. Harvey on October 26, 1957. They lived in Aberdeen, SD, Colorado Springs, Colorado and then settled in Rapid City, SD where they lived until 2012 when they moved to Waukesha, WI to reside with their daughter and son-in-law.

Marla spent her career working in retail. Most of those years, she worked for Western Way. She did spend a few years managing the small restaurant that used to be in JC Penney’s at the Rushmore Mall.

She loved helping people and was a friend and support to many during her life. She was warm and loving and loved to share her hugs!

Marla had 3 children. Philip R. Harvey (deceased) (Barb), JanMarie Gauthier Lambert (Bob), Mt. Pleasant, WI and Edwin E. Harvey (Brenda), Rapid City SD. She has 5 grandchildren, 9 great children and 2 great great grandchildren. Her family was her treasure and she loved all of the time she got to spend with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, husband Edwin and son Phil.

A celebration of life open house will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 1-3 pm at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 910 Sioux San Drive, Rapid City.
