Life Story / Obituary
Marlene Evelyn Becker, age 89, passed away peacefully Sunday evening, November 17, 2024 at Lakeshore at Siena. Marlene was born in Racine on July 10, 1935, daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (nee: Meyers) Julius.
She was a proud graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1953”. On June 21, 1958, Marlene was united in marriage to the love of her life, David J. Becker in Racine. They raised four children, Brenda, Jeff, Nick and Patrick and shared fifty-six beautiful years together before David preceded her in death on January 12, 2015. Marlene served as Washington Park’s librarian for over 20 years before retiring. Following retirement, Marlene and David traveled the United States for three years, camping and exploring before settling down in Davenport, FL. Marlene moved back to Racine in 2018 to be near her family. She and Dave were longtime members of the Racine Yacht Club, where she cultivated many friendships. She was also an avid football fan and a Packer season ticket holder for over 50 years. Marlene will be best remembered for her great smile, her sense of humor, her many acts of kindness, and her great love and devotion to her family.
