Marlene Ida Nejedly, 91, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Brookside Care Center in Kenosha.

Marlene was born on November 16, 1934, in Racine, the daughter of Alfred and Rachel (née Christensen) DAoust. She grew up in Racine and attended St. Catherines High School. In 1966 she married Charles R. Nejedly, now deceased.

Marlene lived most of her life in Racine. In recent years she moved to Kenosha to be near her daughter, Charlene, and attended Lord of Life Lutheran Church. Everyone who knew her will remember her as kind, sweet, and hard-working.

Her family was her greatest joy. She missed meeting her newest great-grandson, Charlie, in person by just a few hours, but seeing his photographs and videos brought her great happiness in her final days. She adored all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marlene is survived by her son, Jeffrey DAoust; her daughter, Charlene (Jake) Clark; her grandchildren, Dylan DAoust, Emily (née DAoust) Van Gorder, Brittni Bray, and Hunter Clark; and her great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Rachel DAoust; and her sisters, Barbara Petersen and Phyllis Untiedt.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to noon at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 5601 Washington Road, Kenosha. A funeral service will follow at noon, with lunch afterward.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Alliance of Kenosha, Wisconsin, in memory of Marlene Nejedly.
