Marvin Darryl Griffin, age 63, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Ascension All Saints Hospital. He was born in Racine, Wisconsin, February 8, 1960, son of the late Floyd and Jeanette (Nee: Mclain) Griffin.

Marvin graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1977” where he proudly wore jersey number “73” playing defensive tackle on the football team. On September 3, 2008, in Chicago, Illinois he was united in marriage to Ora Lee Washington the love of his life.

Marvin was employed for a number of years at American Motors Corp. He was a hard worker his first job was at Racine Journal Times as a paper boy. He spent most of his money during that time at Dairy Queen on 16th St he also enjoyed scrapping. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing especially up in the Green Bay area for catfish and walleye. Marvin also enjoyed cooking, video games and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. He will be remembered for Always having a sense of humor, loud unforgettable laugh, being the life of the party, cooking his good fried chicken and fish, making his Aunt B's chicken dumpling which his wife always told him baby they have too much pepper, being there when you really needed him day or night and just being exactly who he was. Above all he treasured time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Ora; children, Tamia Griffin, Marvin Griffin Jr; stepchildren, Yolanda Phifer (Rondell Perry Sr) , Teresa Phifer (Raphael Perry Sr) , Asya Turner, Savanna Turner; grandchildren, Iyanna, Tyler, Taylor, Malaki, Isaiah, Joshua, Rondell Jr, Shaterese, Raphael Jr, Raphela, Raphaelleiah, Tay, Avianna, and baby D; sister, Juanita (Dennis) Wiggins, special aunt's Maggie from Ra cine, Kizzy from Racine and Louise from Minnesota. Special cousin, Sherrod Mclain; friends, Scott Olson and family, Jack & Bobby Hugasian and family Daryl Hawkins Sr., Willie Fisher, Tony Martin, Steve Berryhill, Rondell Perry Sr; nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and his precious dog, Honey Boo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Tinesha; and his brother Marcus Griffin.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held at the funeral home, Saturday, March 25, 2023, 11 am with Daryl Hawkins Sr officiating. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10-11 am. Private interment will be held.
