Mary Ann Geraghty (nee: Kiernan), passed away peacefully on October 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Ann was born in Racine, Wisconsin on July 2, 1933, to James and Emma Kiernan. She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School class of 1951. Mary Ann was united in marriage to R. John Geraghty on August 6, 1955. They celebrated almost 60 years together.

Mary Ann loved to travel, visiting Ireland multiple times, as well as Scotland, Belgium, Amsterdam, Finland, and Nova Scotia. She made holidays and birthdays extraordinary with delicious food, desserts, festive decorations, and thoughtful surprises. Mary Ann and her beloved husband, John, hosted a grand Geraghty/Howard family reunion at their home in 1989. Genealogy was one of Mary Ann's passions. She meticulously traced the ancestry of both her and John's families, creating detailed records of their family trees. Prior to her marriage to John, Mary Ann worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance. She returned to the company in the 1970s and also had a long career with the Boy Scouts of America, retiring in 1993.

Mary Ann is survived by her five children, Patrick (Merja) Geraghty, Colleen Geraghty, Kathleen Geraghty, Eileen Geraghty (Jeff) Olson, Ann (Larry) Larson; her grandchildren, Bryan Geraghty, Megan, Gretchen (Matthew) Lang, and Garrett Olson, John and Sara Larson, great-grandson Elliot Geraghty and sister-in-law Peg Geraghty, her dear lifelong friend Midge O’Connor, her dear friend Ardi Triggs, Joan Veltus, her cousin who visited her often, and many nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband R. John Geraghty, parents James and Emma (nee: Veltus) Kiernan, sisters Dolores Cichanofsky and Rita Venturini.

Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at The Pillars at Crystal Bay.

Funeral services celebrating Mary Ann’s life will be held at the funeral home, 10:30 am, Saturday October 26, 2024. Relatives and friends may meet with the family for Visitation, Saturday, 9:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Private interment for the family will be held at Holy Family Cemetery.
