Surrounded by her loving family, Mary L. Navarro, age 87, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at her residence. Mary was born in Milwaukee, WI, September 25, 1927, daughter of the late Sotero “Sam” and Francisca (Nee: Salas) Tovar.
Mary was a graduate of South Division High School, Milwaukee. Furthering her education she graduated from Marquette University with a degree in Sociology. On July 14, 1952 in Chicago, IL she was united in marriage to Julian Navarro Jr. She enjoyed music and swimming. Mary devoted her life and cherished time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-two years, Julian; her six children, Lola (Manuel) Delgado-Ruiz, Gloria (Javier) Mata, Josephine (Gaudencio) Suarez, Julian Navarro III, Alfredo (Brenda) Navarro, Francisca (Kurt) Range; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Juanita Ybarra, Josephine Colin, Fidel Maldonado, Linda Garibaldi, Mary Ellen Rodriguez, Ruth Tapia; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Margarito Tovar, Alfonso Tovar, Catalina Tovar, and Sally Tovar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 4, 2014, 9:00 A.M. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 801 College Avenue, with Rev. Joe Eluvathingal officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 8:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 9:00 A.M.
