Matthew "Matt" John Bouwens

Matthew J. Bouwens, age 49, passed away November 17, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Racine, October 22, 1975, son of John and Suzanne (Nee: White) Bouwens.

Matt was a graduate of Washington Park High School and furthered his education, graduating from Jackson State University. He was employed by S.C. Johnson and Son, Inc. On August 14, 2014, he was united in marriage to Angelica Ramos. Matt was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping and the simpler things in life. He loved going to the Lighthouse Resort on Fence Lake and watching the sunset. He was a free spirit and enjoyed long motorcycle rides and the friendships that were made belonging to Clique Riders. Above all it was time spent with his family that he cherished most.

He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his wife Angelica, his four children, Judaea, Mathias, Alexandro “AJ” and Sarahi; granddaughter, Amelia, his father, John Orville Bouwens, sisters, Michelle (Steve) Hlavacek, Marvlynn (Scott) Graham; brother-in-law, Juan (Carmen) Ramos, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Suzanne and his sister, Marypat Stoner.

Funeral Services celebrating Matt’s life will be held at the funeral home, 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2024, with Rev. Craig Bean officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family on Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
