Michail Mastrokoukos

Michail Mastrokoukos, age 81, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Mac Neal Memorial Hospital, Berwyn, IL. He was born in Pireas, Greece, son of the late Georgios and late Evgenia (Nee: Eleftheriou) Mastrokoukos.

In January of 1973, in Toronto, Canada, he was united in marriage to Theofani Konstantinidis and they were blessed with their son, George. Moving to Chicago they were blessed with their daughter Gina. In 1981 the family moved back to Greece. In Greece, Michail, or known to many as “Mike” and “Laki”, raised his family in Nikea, Pireas. Mike, then lived with his family in Chicago IL from 1997 and then moved to Pleasant Prairie in November of 2019.

Mike started working as a carpenter apprentice from a very young age and then travelled with Commercial Navy since age 17. He was a carpenter by trade and had worked with different shipping companies and cruise lines and traveled to many different countries, wherever the ships would dock for a long time for repairs and upgrades. He spent a lot of time working at sea, throughout his life. He always brought back gifts and colorful stories from everywhere he traveled.

Mike enjoyed going on day trips with his family to many destinations around Athens. Mike enjoyed going on summer vacations with his family. Mike loved the ocean, enjoyed fresh seafood and exploring new places.

He will be remembered for being brave, adventurous, generous, funny, quick witted, hard working, a great provider for his family. He was always positive and very optimistic.

Surviving are his wife, Theofani; children, George Mastrokoukos, Gina Mastrokoukos (fiancée Kevin Prescott);

Relatives and friends may meet at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St, Racine, Sunday, January 25, 2026, 12pm-1pm. A funeral service will follow at 1 pm.
