Mili Marie Krembs, a resident of Slinger, Wisconsin, passed away on August 12, 2024. Mili was born on April 6, 1928 in Harrisburg, Illinois, the daughter of John and Mary (Lasousky) Waidelis.

Mili was raised in Harrisburg, Illinois where she attended Harrisburg High School. She attended the University of Southern Illinois, graduating with a BA in Teaching. Mili moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and stayed with her sister, Katherine, while working as a secretary. She was introduced to Joseph Richard (Dick) Krembs, who was a member of the United States Army, Tank Co., 86th Infantry Division. On July 5, 1952 they were married at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Wauwatosa. When Dick returned from service, they began a family, and Mili became a full-time Mom. In 1963, they moved their family of seven: three girls and two boys, to East Brunswick, New Jersey, and added another son to their family. In 1968 they moved to Baltimore, Maryland and two years later to Columbus, Ohio. Mili and Dick moved back home to Wisconsin in 1978 and lived in Racine.

Mili was exceptional at sewing and made wonderful outfits for her children, as well as fun Halloween costumes. She enjoyed listening to the birds, loved to fly kites, loved being by the water, and was game for any trip especially if it meant spending time with her husband or children. Mili joined the Sweet Adelines singing group in Columbus, Ohio. She loved singing with them and made many life-long friends. She also volunteered at the School for the Blind, and was a longtime member of TOPS. Mili was an avid Scrabble player, spending many hours playing with her children as well as joining a group in Racine where she made more dear friends.

Mili worked part time at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, and at Midland Life Insurance Company in Columbus. In Racine, she was a Motor Vehicle Service Specialist for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, retiring in 1993. After Mili retired, she and Dick attended many plays, and traveled extensively, visiting places such as China, Germany, and even the Vatican, a highlight of their life. In 2021 Mili moved to Slinger.

Mili is survived by her children, Mary Elizabeth (David) Yoder of Westerville, Ohio, Susan Louise Krembs of Brick, New Jersey, Joseph Andrew (Joan) Krembs of Hartford, Wisconsin, Philip Matthew (Jodi) Krembs of Racine, Wisconsin, Nadine Marie (Peter) Buchen of Woodbury, Minnesota, Theodore Vincent (Eileen) Krembs of Yelm, Washington; grandchildren Matthew (Michelle) Yoder, Benjamin (Kira) Yoder, Caitlyn (Alexy) Konko, Michelle (Don) McGloan, Heather Kurpiecki, Erin Krembs, Max (Shyenne) Krembs, James (Tessa) Buchen, Rachel (Eric) Buchen-Meci, Theresa Krembs; great grandchildren Bryce, Avery, and Leah Yoder, Signe and Cecilia Konko, and Donald, Owen, and Jeremy McGloan. Mili was also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Mili was pre-deceased by her husband, Dick Krembs; parents, and her sisters and brothers-in-law Katherine (Vito) Guardalabene and Eleanor (Gilbert) Colaianni.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1100 Erie Street, Tuesday, September 10, 2024, 11 am with Rev. Antony Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Hwy 31. Relatives and friends may meet the family prior to the Mass 9:30 am – 10:45 am.
