Monica K. Darga, age 75, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 26, 2011. Monica was born in Racine, January 18, 1936, daughter of the late Harry H. and Rose E. (Nee: Burdick) Beatty.
On May 21, 1960 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Finian J. Darga who preceded her in death, October 19, 2001. Monica was a longtime and active member of St. Edward Catholic Church serving as Eucharist Minister, member of Women of St. Edward’s , and always willing to help where needed. She also delivered Meals on Wheels. Monica devoted her life to her family and will be deeply missed.
Survivors include her three children, Anthony (Brenda) Darga of Racine, Theodore (Peggy) Darga of Stewartville, MN, Thomas Darga of Racine; her grandchildren, Jodi, Krystal (Ryan) Sorenson, Tiffany, Kelly, Kyle, and Theodore; great grandchildren, Isaiah, Maebelle, Rocky, and Joshua; her step-grandchildren, Brian, Jammie, Cory, Shawn, Shelly, and Sarah; step great grandchildren, Josilyn, Jaida, Skyler, and Decklin, Savannah, Sybelle, Dakota, Skyla, Dylan, Jesse, and Zachary; sister, Dolores (Robert) Ellison of Kenosha; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy Beatty of Kenosha, Anna Boerschinger of Suring, Cecelia Marescalco of Kenosha, Elizabeth (Larry) Stadler of Green Bay, Agatha (Florian) Fendrick of Pound, Raymond (Roseann) Darga of Porterfield, Joseph (Barbara) Darga of Athelstane, John (Judy) Darga of Pound; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Agnes Rose; her grandson, Andrew; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Frank and Agnes Darga; sisters, MaryAnn Beatty, Sr. Elizabeth Mary Fritchen S.S.S.F.; brothers, Melvin and Dallas Fritchen, John Beatty, Elmer Beatty; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, October 31, 2011, 11:00 A.M. at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1430 Grove Avenue, with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home 3- 6 P.M. and on Monday at the church 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Edward’s Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
